A device that can write information to a CD or DVD for either Back-up or to share with others.

This is a piece of software that tells your computer what something is.

This is the term that describes to computers connected together, normally via a cable.

This is a piece of software unauthorised access to computer from people on the Internet.

GIGABYTE(Gb)
This is the unit used to measure the size of storage devices such as Hard Disks.
 

GIGAHERTZ (GHz)
This is the unit used to measure the speed of your Processor inside your computer.

INSTANT MESSAGING (IM)
This is an online conversation between 2 or more people, where words are typed and arrive instantly on the recipients screen.

ISP
Tour Internet Service Provider is the company that provides your Internet Connection, Either via Dial up or Broardband.

LAN
Local Area Network is the description of a group of computers connected together using an Ethernet connection.

MEMORY
This is the temporary storage area for your computer

MODEM
This is the communication devise that connects your computer to the phone line.

MOTHERBOARD
This is the main board inside your computer that connects all of the parts together
.

MP3
This is the common name for a music file that is stored on your computer or electronic device, such as an MP3 player

 

PROCESSOR
This is another name for the CPU inside your computer.

ROUTER
This is a device that can connect networked computers on the internet.

TROGAN HORSES
